Ace actor Suresh Gopi, who got into trouble, following his appearance in a public function in police uniform, defended his action.

“I meant no disrespect or ever wanted to break the rule of the land. I was shooting at Thrippunithura for ‘Twenty Twenty’, which had me in a police role. I was already late by an hour for the function and so if I had to change and reach the function ,it would have taken more time, Suresh Gopi was attending the inauguration of Janapriya Suraksha project where the topic was 'Policemen as our role model in society'.

Real life ACP, P.M Varghese, Central DIG Venu, and other top police officials were those who accompanied and welcomed Gopi at the function.

Majority of the Legal experts believe there is nothing to worry for the star, if he is ready to apologize in court. Added to that, the complaint itself may not stand as the star was not wearing any police cap at the function.

Suresh Gopi is in the mood of pleading before the court that this action was made in the best of the intentions, just to promote the community policing programme, which aims for a good people-police relations for the benefit of society.
